Indiana Jones:Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Friday, May 23rd, 2008 ENTERTAINMENT
George Lucas remains out of touch with why audiences fell in love with his movies.
The 21st Century Lucas has lost focus, adventure and imagination. The plot for Indy and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull lacks all of the above.
Harrison Ford is infallible as ever. However, he struggles with the movie’s pointless dialogue, and easily the weakest cast ever for the franchise. Cate Blanchett and Shia LeBeouf are both impostors trying to play villain and side-kick.
(I long for the days of Marcus Brody, Short-Round Sallah.)
Screenwriter Philip Kaufman’s creativity and character development was sorely missed in this movie.
2 out of 5![]()
- 5specs (based on scale of 1 to 5 / 1=worst / 5=best)
Final Review: WAIT FOR NETFLIX
• Worst story-line in the entire series; Lucas has given us another Phantom Menace
• Too much dialogue that adds little substance to the plot… misses the balance of wit and imagination that dominated the prior three films
• Action scenes are great, but far and between.
• If you can think back to the opening scenes of the prior three movies, they were excellent.
After watching Crystal Skulls opening, it’s a bit of a prelude for what’s to come.
Words by Mr. Armstrong
OVER THE WEEKEND RONTRONIK ALSO CHECKED OUT INDIANA JONES.
Final Analysis: SKIP IT
- 2.5stars (based on scale of 1 to 5 / 1=worst / 5=best)
• This movie is another example of why George Lucas should not be writing (or directing) anymore. and Spielberg is just as bad for a directing this garbage and letting it see the light of day
• I’ve seen better plots in a Scooby-Doo cartoon.
• Totally disappointing
Well folks there you have it.
