So you like the fit, feel and comfort of those cotton desert scarves, but are sick to death of the black and white Keffiya and don’t feel like rockin’ that Clash/war photographer/Bedouin steeze? Original Penguin just released a half dozen scarves in the same Indian cotton, but in more first-world friendly shapes, patterns and colors. Varsity stripes, checks, plaids and even a herringbone weave make up this outfit-friendly pack.

Instead of a giant square tablecloth like the Keffiya, the Original Penguin scarves come in two classic gentleman’s shapes, a traditional long scarf with fringe on the ends and an old school square neckerchief/cravatte with just a hint of fringe. A limited edition run of fall colors just dropped at the Original Penguin stores and some West Coast Macy’s locations. Coming in February are bright spring plaids and stripes. Only a few hundred will be available of each color worldwide, so don’t sleep on it too long if you see one you like.
