The Amazing Spider-Man Movie Review

Big June from B’klyn here to let you Blacren-dians know the scoop about the Latest comic book movie The Amazing Spider-Man. If you’ve been following me then you know that I’ve been waiting to see this movie since sept 2011.

The cynical new Yorker in me wants to say what  I even heard some of the viewers say after the movie. “Isn’t this the same movie with different actors? My answer is … not at all.  All of the true marvel fanatics know that Spider-Man has been through several different versions and all of them were loosely connected by various similar details, well the Amazing Spider-Man movie  is no different from the comic book.  The same way that Batman came out with a slightly different story line, a  different plot and different villains. Now it’s Spider-Man’s turn.

Next I want to discuss the cast:  Peter Parker. Andrew Garfield (from the social network) had a serious problem on his hands, because Tobey Maquire really did so well in the original Spider-Man movie that nobody really wants to see another person play Spider-Man.  I will say this Andrew Garfield did a better job at playing this version of Spider-Man than Val Kilmer did at reinventing  the Batman character after Michael Keaton crushed the performance in the first Batman movie.  Andrew Garfield reminded me of the Spider-Man of the comics and the cartoons.  That Spider-Man was witty, sarcastic, and a bit cynical,  just like a true New Yorker.  Plenty of  Smart Aleckey jokes,  innuendo’s and puns, that’s what makes a good Spider-Man and I think that Andrew nailed it.  The rest of the actors in the movie  including superstar Denis Leary were merely supporting cast.

My advice watch The Amazing Spider-Man and enjoy it for what it’s worth don’t try to compare it to the last series of Spider-Man movies which are great in their own right, Just watch it and enjoy the ride because this one will still turn out better, but don’t take my word for it watch it and leave comments below describing what you think about it.
