Greetings Blacren Pod-ophiles Big June from B”klyn here and I have to admit, I own one pair of sneakers; a set of white on black Adidas Samba’s and I barely wear them. There was a time however, when all Day I dreamed about sick new foot locker’s and how they would look holding my ankles above ground. I high stepped it around the mall, in and out of stores looking for a unique but very cool versions of a toe motel.
Now-a-days the youth (faced with a slowly receding recession) resort to exploiting their peers much like the sneakers companies of yesterday (& TODAY) exploited my generation’s footwear addicts. The current trend is to camp out in front of the local foot boutique so you can be first in line to Purchase the latest and most popular pair of hoof covers on the market, then resell them at a marked up price to a collector who will probably place them in a box and/or wait til they become discontinued then sell them on ebay at a 300% markup. What does that mean? Today’s footwear is being bought and sold but barely ever worn. Real sneakerHeads believe that a super phresh china made foot chassis should be showcased not in a box (unless storing it until the next wear) but adorned at the bottom of that glorified kickstand we call a leg.
Allow me to introduce Sean Williams the founder of the first ever sneaker talk show (OSD live) Sean will be syndicating his show right here on Blacren.com with special guest visiting the show from time to time. Sean’s show will replace our very popular “Sneaks of the week” series which showcases rare and uniques footwear. Be on the lookout for Shoe reviews from a sneaker fiend whose motto is “Wear Every Pair”.
