With the release of Modern Warfare and Left for Dead  2  in the latter portion of 2009, you’d think we’d be satisfied for a few months when it comes to sequels.

But there are  two of the most anticipated sequels of 2010 on deck , Mass Effect and Bio Shock 2.  After watching  the Dirty Dozen Teaser for Mass Effect 2, I’m ready for another go at Bioware’s  Space Epic.( They make the best trailers on a par with Square’s in my opinion)

After so many delays, Take 2’s Bio Shock has got me in a wait and see mode.   There may be two sleeper hits on the horizon with Bayonetta and Dark Void. Some are calling Bayonetta one the best 3rd person shooters ever.

With the all attention of focused on Modern Warfare 2, don’t  forgot about two other Big Sequels.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 dropped yesterday.  I managed to get a few boards in, and I have to tell you  Infinity Ward’s repeat effort for the award winning franchise is well worth the wait.

So far its graphics and presentattion are the best this year.  The battle scenes are intense but I find myself squinting to find the enemy.   There wont be a final verdict until I finish it, I’m still on Gears of Wars 2 and Batman :-).

Masterpiece in the Medium

I have been waiting for this game to come around for a long LONG while now. When the PS3 first dropped, this game was supposed to be it’s flagship for the system, it’s Halo 3 if you will. Now, 3 years later, Playstation finally has their own console exclusive shooter, and I’m proud to say, THIS is why I bought a Playstation in the first place…. There is one thing to say about Killzone 2: It’s just any other shooter, but so masterly crafted to not be any specific type of shooter that it seems fresh and new. From turret battles, to short hallways and close range fist-fights, Killzone always keeps the action fresh and your mind reeling as to what to expect next.

The action takes place as the ISA (your team) takes on the Helghast on their own turf. Killzone 1 takes place vice versa this scenario. Walking through the environment, I found myself wondering what numerous structures and objects must be. Nothing seems to be just thrown willy-nilly. It feels like a real world, and most of the time works like a real world. But, when those glowing red eyes start appearing in front, to the side, above and sometimes below you, you quickly realize that the environment is there for a reason: to save your ass. For all you Retro Boogie Heads, Sega has released the largest Sega Genesis collection to date all on one disc retailing for about 30 bucks. With recessions woes hitting us in our pockets this a great way to chill over the weekend. Revisit the classics like Sonic the Hedgehog,Phantasy Star, Golden Axe and much more. I got my 40oz of Old English and ready to game.
